MANILA – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. reiterated the value of a resilient military infrastructure in a nation's defense particularly an archipelagic one.
“An archipelagic nation requires resilient infrastructure; airfields, ports, camps, logistics hubs, and mobility corridors that allow our forces to operate effectively across our islands and maritime domain," he added.
Brawner underscored this during the 89th founding anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Corps of Engineers (AFPCOE) last March 12, a military statement on Friday said.
Likewise, the AFP chief highlighted the AFPCOE's contributions to the military for the past 89 years.
“For nearly nine decades, the Corps of Engineers has been a steady, dependable force behind mission accomplishment,” he said as the unit has been responsible for strengthening key facilities, and enabling mission readiness across the archipelago.
Brawner also hailed the AFPCOE for its professionalism, technical excellence, and steadfast service in helping build a stronger and more mission-ready Armed Forces. (PNA)
