Laguna prov’l gov’t implements temporary 4-day work week

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Gov. Sol Aragones announced on Monday the rollout of a temporary four-day workweek for provincial government offices, following a directive from Malacañang.

Aragones announced on Facebook that a forthcoming memorandum will change office hours from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday to Friday, to 7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday to Thursday.

She also directed the release of necessary documents on Thursdays instead of Fridays.

"The initiative will not hamper government services while adhering to Malacañang's directive amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East," Aragones said.

Frontline and essential services departments, including the Governor’s Office, General Services, Bids and Awards, Human Resources, Treasury, Accounting and Provincial Social Welfare and Development, will maintain their regular working hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Also included in the regular working days are the Provincial Budget Office, Public Affairs, Provincial Jail, Traffic Management, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, as well as provincial and district hospitals. (PNA)
