Fair weather, isolated rains to prevail across PH

MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience fair weather and isolated rains, a weather forecaster said on Wednesday.

"Most of Luzon will have clear skies and fair weather, and there's a tendency for localized thunderstorms because it will be really hot in the afternoon," said Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Metro Manila will experience up to 32°C, Tuguegarao up to 35°C, and Legazpi up to 33°C.

Fair weather and cloudy skies are also expected over most of the Visayas and Mindanao.

"Scattered thunderstorms will be experienced in the afternoon due to the ITCZ (intertropical convergence zone)," Estareja said.

He added that floods and landslides are possible.

Western and Central Visayas will experience sunny weather and rains caused by localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

This may last for a short period, Estareja said.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago.

"We do not see any weather disturbance that may develop in the next three days," he said.

However, he said a low-pressure area (LPA) may develop east of the Visayas and Mindanao.

An LPA may also develop outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. (PNA)
