DSWD releases P831-M cash aid to Tino-affected households in Negros


BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has so far disbursed PHP831.626 million in Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance to household-beneficiaries affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Tino in Negros Island Region (NIR) in November 2025.

Data on Monday showed that from the start of the payout in mid-February until March 7, some 139,603 beneficiaries in 12 local government units (LGUs) have already been served.

"This is equivalent to a 70.23 percent accomplishment rate. The ECT aims to help families meet their immediate and basic needs as they recover from the effects of disasters," the DSWD-NIR said in a report.

Beneficiaries with severely damaged houses received PHP10,325 each, while those with slightly damaged houses received PHP5,369 each.

The LGUs covered are Bago City, with 15,892 beneficiaries who received PHP93.268 million; Binalbagan, 11,403 beneficiaries, PHP62.288 million; Himamaylan City, 28,250 beneficiaries, PHP151.674 million; Hinigaran, 22,972 beneficiaries, PHP138.933 million; Isabela, 14,207 beneficiaries, PHP94.327 million; and La Carlota City, 15,097 beneficiaries, PHP92.201 million.

Others include La Castellana, 17,511 beneficiaries, PHP100.122 million; Moises Padilla, 2,149 beneficiaries, PHP22.188 million; Pulupandan, 3,740 beneficiaries, PHP26.998 million; San Enrique, 3,586 beneficiaries, PHP21.091 million; Valladolid, 1,843 beneficiaries, PHP10.157 million; and Canlaon City, 2,953 beneficiaries, PHP18.374 million.
