"Amid the rising fuel costs, enjoying a summer break has become a luxury for many travelers. We encourage our kababayan and foreign visitors as well to try the beauty of Romblon," said Calatrava Mayor Robert "Bong" Fabella.

"Calatrava is a budget-friendly destination where travelers can still enjoy the laid-back charm of Romblon without stretching their finances," Fabella added. Island hopping and swimming in crystal-clear waters are among the famous activities in the province.

The Calatrava Tourism Council charges a minimal fee of PHP20 per visitor as an environmental fee to help keep the areas clean.

Visitors can also enjoy a cool and scenic retreat with Calatrava's eight waterfalls: Salingpaca Falls in Bgy. Pangulo; Oray Falls, Humbak-Humbak Falls, and Kalipay Falls in Bgy. Balogo; Cawa Falls, Secret Lagoon Falls, Tagpuan Falls, and El Telon Falls in Bgy. Pagsangahan.

Many restaurants and food hubs in the town offer a taste of Romblon's cuisine, including grilled seafood, kinilaw, and seafood stew.

Calatrava also offers a range of hotels and accommodations catering to different budgets. From simple guesthouses to cozy beachfront inns, visitors can enjoy comfortable stays and friendly local hospitality.

"Aside from the beauty of our natural resources, what we can offer is our warm, welcoming service to guests to make them feel at home and give them a memorable stay," Fabella said.

"We want to ensure that in Calatrava, every peso counts and memories last," he added.

The mayor advised visitors to get in touch with the Calatrava Tourism Council, through its social media page, for inquiries and travel information. (PR)
