CAAP ensures normal ops at Palawan airport, aid to slain exec's kin

MANILA – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Friday normal and uninterrupted operations continue at the Puerto Princesa International Airport despite the untimely passing of the airport's acting manager, Joanna Jonson-Infante.

CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario visited the airport on Thursday and affirmed that flight schedules, safety procedures, and all essential airport services continue without disruption.

According to reports, Infante was shot in the back along Bayview Road in Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City, on Wednesday. She was brought to a hospital but later succumbed to gunshot wounds.

CAAP said the incident is under investigation, and urged the public to refrain from making assumptions and spreading unverified claims.

"CAAP management will closely monitor developments in the case, in accordance with the directives of Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez," it said.

Del Rosario, in a statement, said CAAP will provide assistance to Infante's family.

The CAAP will coordinate with authorities to ensure resolution and justice in Infante's case, he said. (PNA)
