Albay to receive P608-M from PBBM's Local Government Support Fund

LEGAZPI CITY – The province of Albay will receive PHP608 million from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

Albay Governor Noel Rosal, who was at Malacañang in Manila with other local chief executives on Thursday for a meeting with Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, thanked President Marcos for supporting local government units (LGUs) programs and projects.

“I’m amazed with PBBM. I wish this had been done earlier for faster implementation, but he said it's just the beginning. All municipalities and cities in Albay will receive support,” he said in a social media post Friday.

Rosal said that following their meeting with Recto, the President wants direct projects in the LGUs, particularly the construction and repair of school buildings.

“This is it, fellow Albayanos, what we have been waiting for," he added.

For the 2026 LGSF allocation, the Albay provincial government will receive PHP274 million for Financial Assistance to Local Government Units rice and other projects, according to a list provided by Rosal.

Eligible projects include the construction and improvement of roads, hospitals, health stations, water systems, renewable energy facilities for buildings, solar street lights, multi-purpose halls, and sports facilities.

The municipalities of Bacacay, Camalig, Daraga, Libon, Malilipot, Malinao, Manito, Oas, Pio Duran, Polangui, Rapu-Rapu, Sto. Domingo, and Tiwi will receive PHP10 million each.

Guinobatan will get PHP30 million under the Support to Barangay Development Program, while Jovellar will have PHP30 million under the Growth Equity Fund.

Legazpi City has been allocated PHP64 million, Ligao City PHP36 million and Tabaco City PHP44 million.

Under the “Bigay Bigas sa Masa” program, each eligible indigent family will receive 10 kilograms of rice per month, totaling 60 kilos per year. (PNA)
