MANILA – A huge part of the country will experience rains caused by three prevailing weather systems, the weather bureau said Friday.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are forecast in Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, BARMM, Eastern Visayas, Sulu, Cebu, and Bohol due to the shear line.
Those areas could experience moderate to heavy rains that could result in flash floods or landslides.
The northeast monsoon or "amihan" will bring light rains across Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon, as well as isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas.
Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will prevail over the rest of Mindanao.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast across Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
No low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said. (PNA)
