MANILA – Three weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 4 a.m. advisory, the weather bureau said "the Bicol Region, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen will also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will continue to prevail, bringing light rains over the rest of Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Calabarzon will experience cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains also due to amihan.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in areas affected by the shear line, amihan, and easterlies due to moderate to heavy rains.
It said no gale warning was issued, but still advised small to medium-sized vessels to always monitor updates due to the shear line. (PNA)
