ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities have arrested two drug suspects and seized some PHP3.4 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation early Monday in this city, the police said.
The Special Operations Unit-9 (SOU-9) of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) identified the arrested suspects only by their aliases, Halisan, 42, and Aliyasman, 35.
The suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:14 a.m. in Sitio Logoy Diutay, Barangay Talon-Talon.
“The suspects were immediately arrested after selling sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman,” the SOU-9 said in its report.
Seized from the suspects were some 500 grams of suspected shabu in 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic packs, a bundle of boodle money, and a mobile phone.
The suspects were handed over to Zamboanga City Police Station 12 for detention, while the evidence is with SOU-9 for proper handling.
Both suspects will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The anti-drug operation was carried out with assistance from various police units and the Naval Intelligence and Security Group-Western Mindanao. (PNA)
